Essentials Proficiency Program
Overview
The Catchup Math Essentials Proficiency Program reviews the course content covered in grades 6-7 math textbooks and is divided into six sequential sections. Pre-tests (quizzes) are given for each section, and students are assigned lessons based on incorrect answers. Re-teaching includes text lessons (in both English and Spanish), videos, activities, and practice problems with tutorial solutions. A student takes repeat quizzes and receives lesson-prescriptions until passing each section. Teachers can review student work written on our online whiteboard. Material from earlier courses and sections is often included and even repeated.
Section 1
Adding and Subtracting Decimals, Adding and Subtracting Fractions, Adding and Subtracting Negatives, Basic Operations, Converting Fractions to Decimals, Equivalent Fractions, Integers, Least Common Denominator (LCD), Mean, Median and Mode, Rectangle.
Section 2
Adding and Subtracting Decimals, Adding and Subtracting Fractions, Adding and Subtracting Negatives, Basic Operations, Converting Fractions to Decimals, Irrational Numbers, Least Common Denominator (LCD), Mixed Numbers, Order of Operations, Percents and Decimals, Simplest Form of a Fraction, Square, Square Roots.
Section 3
Adding and Subtracting Fractions, Adding and Subtracting Negatives, Basic Operations, Comparing Fractions, Converting Fractions to Decimals, Exponents, Greatest Common Factors, Improper Fractions, Least Common Denominator (LCD), Mixed Numbers, Multiplying and Dividing with Negatives, Order of Operations, Percent, Prime Factorization, Simplest Form of a Fraction.
Section 4
Distributive Property, Dividing by a Fraction, Exponents, Multiplying a Fraction by a Fraction, Prime and Composite Numbers, Quadrants, Range of Data, Reciprocals, Simplest Form of a Fraction, Solving Equations, Variables, Word Problems.
Section 5
Adding and Subtracting Fractions, Dividing by a Fraction, Divisibility Tests, Graphing on the Coordinate Plane, Least Common Denominator (LCD), Median, Mixed Numbers, Multiplying a Fraction by an Integer, Percent, Prime Factorization, Rounding Numbers, Simplest Form of a Fraction.

Dividing by a Fraction, Least Common Denominator (LCD), Mixed Numbers, Multiplying a Fraction by an Integer, Multiplying and Dividing with Decimals, Multiplying and Dividing with Negatives, Percent, Rates and Ratios, Simple Interest, Simplest Form of a Fraction, Square, Square Roots.
